Straight Hair Again

So over the weekend I decided to trim my ends so I straightened my hair and got right to work. For some reason I can not get this image of how my hair should look when straightened! I still see it in my head as turning out bone straight and blowing in the wind (lol yeah I know)  like it would if it were relaxed. I kept my hair in this style for like 4 days and washed it. Here are a few pictures I'd like to share with you all.

Day 1
Day 1
As the day progressed it got bigger and more frizz!
With Headband
On Day 2 and 3 I decided to do two strand twists with perm rods just so I could leave it out and not wear a ponytail. On Day 2 I used bigger rods and it didn't turn out as curly as it did for Day 3 when I used smaller rods. Here are pictures from both days.

Day 2

Day 3
Day 3
I'm glad to have my curls back! hehe :) What I have to do is accept the fact that my hair will never look bone straight as it did when I was relaxed. I don't think that's such a bad thing either...

Yes to Carrots

I believe I may have found my new favorite conditioner which also maybe a staple product for me! I just purchased Yes to Carrots from ULTA this weekend for about um 10 dollars. I used Yes to Carrots tonight for the first time to detangle my hair while using the Tangle Teezer. I really like the slip to the conditioner and the consistency. Doesn't smell like anything spectacular but it is a really nice conditioner! When I feel like spending $10.00 on a conditioner this will be what I buy lol. This is the only conditioner in a long time that made my hair go OH YEAHHHH! HAHA! Anybody tried Yes to Carrots or Cucumbers? What are your thoughts?

Tangle Teezer Review

Tonight I decided to wash my hair and FINALLY use the Tangle Teezer! The Tangle Teezer is soooo awesome! Now my hair texture would be considered 4a/4b. Those with this hair type know that it tangles sooo bad sometimes and it takes a lot to detangle. The Tangle Teezer is like the best thing since sliced bread!

What I liked the most is that it didn't feel like I was yanking my hair out like it does when I use a denman brush and my detangling time was cut down by like 20 minutes and I just couldn't stop saying OMG!! HAHA! If you have natural hair I REALLY recommend buying the Tangle Teezer which is priced at $9.99.

You all may be wondering if there are any cons to the Tangle Teezer. Well the only thing I hated is while having conditioner on my hands it was harder to grip the teezer, so I had to keep cleaning my hands, but I don't mind because there are way more pros with this tool. I might as well say goodbye to my denman brush for detangling and WELCOME HOME to the Tangle Teezer. I wish I had this tool last year!

Shea Butter Mix

I finally mixed my OKAY African Shea Butter with the oils I have. I must say it turned out really well! The first thing I did was scoop the shea butter out into chunks and put it in the microwave for 35 seconds just to soften it up. The great thing about this white smooth shea butter is that it is softer than the yellow.

Once I got the shea butter soft I mixed it with 10 drops of vitamin E, and all the oils that you all see above. I don't measure the oils by a specific amount, I just go with the flow. Once everything was put together I used a cake mixer to get a whipped consistency. It looked like cake batter lol, but I must say, it turned out really nice.

I wish you all could feel how the shea butter felt once I was done. Has anyone else mixed up their own shea butter batch? What oils do you guys use? Any recommendations?

Coil Out

On Monday night I decided to put finger coils in my hair because I haven't done them in over a year and I was on youtube again lol! I separated the coils out today and it didn't turn out how I envisioned. I thought they would look like spiral curls and hang or something but it just looked a hot mess before I pulled it back into a puff! It just looked like a regular twist out or something. Here are pictures:

Now I thought by using bobby pins to hold the coils down it would cut down on the frizzyness and stay  down but it didn't make any difference.

Product Pick Ups

I decided to go out and buy a few items for my hair today and these are the products I ended up buying today:

Grapeseed Oil

Jojoba Oil

Black Haitian Castor Oil and Vatika Oil

Shea Butter

Tangle Teezer

I will be using the Grapeseed Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Castor Oil when I make my Shea Butter mix. As for the Vatika Oil, I will be using that daily for massaging my scalp and hair. I may be able to put the Vatika Oil in with my Shea Butter, but idk yet. Now I went to Sally's for nail polish and thought about the Tangle Teezer! I was excited that it was in pink! lol. I really wonder will this much talked about Tangle Teezer help me detangle my 4a hair!

Has anyone tried the Tangle Teezer? What are your thoughts? Once I wash my hair I will definitely do a review on how it worked for me.Oh yeah, would you guys like to see the colors I picked today? Check them out below. Leave comments, questions, and suggestions! Thanks for reading and viewing!

My favorite products

Now I'm not a product junkie so I haven't had the chance to try all the hottest products on the market.  I can say that some of the products that I have purchased have been pretty awesome for my hair and for my budget! I like to switch it up a bit and right now I would consider the following products my staple products:

Kinky Curly Knot Today

Neutrogena Deep Conditioner

Shea Moisture Smoothie

This week I will definitely be ordering Kinky Curlys' Knot Today Leave-In and Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie because I am almost out of them. Do I have an all time favorite conditioner and shampoo? At the moment I'm still open and I never stick to a particular shampoo or conditioner but hopefully something will catch my hair's attention.

What are your favorite products? Any recommendations?
