Products I found

I bought these products a couple of weeks ago just for the hell of it while browsing in Sally's Beauty Supply and Walgreens. I have been looking for a reliable deep conditioner that actually conditions the hair DEEPLY lol and I found this:

This deep conditioner is a product from Silk Elements and yeah it is pretty cool. I believe it was like $5 or $6...I don't really remember.  I only used it once but I was not disappointed. My hair did not feel stripped and it felt nice. I will probably use it this weekend. No complaints here. Then I found some sample packets of this:

Hair One Cleanser and Conditioner with Argan Oil...maybe $1 a pack. I am going to use the second packet tonight. I don't remember if it cleaned my hair like a shampoo...oh it's sulfate free and it didn't leave my hair feeling stripped. When I use it tonight I will update this with more details. As you can see I'm not a big reviewer of products lol but if a product sucks I will tell you DEFINITELY!

Lastly I bought this from Walgreens:

Taliah Waajid Curly Curl Cream for less than $10. I use it to moisturizer my hair and for twist outs and such. It's not really good by itself to leave you with that defined look and it doesn't define your hair like a gel would. Smells like candy though :) It's cool I just use a little gel with it to set my styles. Have you guys tried any of these products? What are your thoughts?

Marly Braiding Hair

On this week I was inspired to try a different hairstyle with my hair from watching young ladies style their hair on youtube of course. In the video posted at the end, the girl has Marly Braiding Hair that she puts into a huge twists to create a bun. SO I went to my local beauty supply store and bought this hair for like $3.99:

The awesome thing about this hair is that it looks like natural hair! It was dry as shit but it blended perfectly with my hair...

My hair is in the middle and the weave is surrounding my hair so you can not tell the difference :) Great style to do when you don't feel like doing much with your hair. If you can put your hair in a pony tail you can certainly try this style. I just used gel and water to slick my hair back and bobby pins. Here is the video that shows exactly what I did! Let me know if you guys decide to try it out. P.S. Why my waves can't look like her waves! lol

Water Marble Nails Gone Wrong

Am I the only person that just discovered water marble nail art? While on youtube of course, I came across a tutorial on how to do designs by putting drops of nail polish in water then dipping your finger into the pattern. Looks and sounds easy right?  I was like owwww I have got to try this! Here is a video so you guys can get a visual:

So yeah I tried it and I followed the steps like they said and yeahhh it didn't look good to me (or anyone else except my Dad lol)  LOOK!

This is a hot ass mess! lol I used China Glaze polish and some colors dissolved well in the water and then again I was being impatient and trying to get a good angle and blah blah. It was pretty messy because I didn't use enough tape to cover my fingers. So I took this water marble off my nails and did something else. Here it is:

Now I like this design! I used China Glaze in white for the base and a the blue was used with the polish with the small brush, I think it's called Stripes or something idk. Will you guys ever try to water marble design? One day I will do it again and be successful!

MAC makeover

Last weekend I went to Dillards to get a new bottle of perfume and started exploring the different makeup counters. I came across the MAC counter and the makeup artist at the counter looked awesome! She had bold blue eye shadow on so I was like oww can you do mine! lol The last time anyone has ever done my makeup was when I was like 12 and I looked dead.

So I sat down and had fun getting a mini makeover. The catch? You have to purchase $50 in products. THAT'S EASY AS PIE to do at MAC. So I did it...Here is what I looked like after my makeover lol ***for a closer view click the pictures***

I really don't like the caked on look and to me it looks like too much. I suppose it's because I'm not into loud makeup. I loved the eye shadow she used on my eyes though and the lip gloss. Here are the items I ended up buying that she used.

The foundation is NW45, the Paint Pot is Groundwork, and the Lustreglass is Beaux. Now today I was a little scared to used the foundation because I didn't want to look like a cake again lol But the color is actually THE BUSINESS on me lol. And the Paint Pot really made my eye shadow POP! I really enjoyed my makeover. Here is my look today.

It evened out my skin tone and looks more natural. Maybe the next time I go get something done I'll do something BOLD! What do you guys think?

New shoes!

I went to the mall today and FINALLY bought the Blue Suede Jessica Simpson platforms :) yayyy! I know I'm late and everybody seems to have a blue suede shoe but dang it I got them now! I'm now looking for a nice chocolate brown wedge sandal but they are just so hard to find! Okay tell me what you guys think!

I think I'm like 6'0 in these shoes :) Now I need to figure out what I'm going to wear with them. Any suggestions?

I've been thinking...

I've been thinking lately that maybe I should do different posts weekly with all my different shoes! I mean that was part of my idea when I first started this blog as well as show shoes that I can't afford as well as ones that I'd definitely buy. Do you guys care to see what shoes are in my closet? I know someone does! This is going to be one of my missions to complete!

Oyin Handmade Order

I finally ordered a product that I've heard so much about! There are so so many different products to choose from but I decided to give Oyin Handmade a try. I ordered their sample set which consists of the Honey Hemp Conditioner, Whipped Pudding Cream, Shine and Define Styling Serum, and the Greg Juice Leave In which came to $17.50 plus like 3 or 4 dollars for shipping.

First off I was amazed that it only took like 2 or 3 days for me to receive my order! Another thing that I like about the products is the smell! The whipped pudding smells like cocoa- cocoa and the shine and define serum smells like skittles!! The other 2 have a citrus scent going on. The only thing I have not used yet is the conditioner. I used the other 3 products for bantu knots and they turned out pretty nice. I'll be washing my hair in the next hour or so when I stop being lazy :) so I'll use all the products on freshly washed hair and tell you all how it went for me.

Has anyone else tried Oyin Handmade products? What were your thoughts? Isn't it HARD to pick just ONE product line at a time!?!

Twists with Flexi- Rods

Thursday night I decided to try something else with my hair. My hair was already stretched out from twists so all I did was wet my hair a little, used my Carols Daughter Hair Butter which I've had for almost 2 years lol (not fond of the smell) and shea butter. I put medium sized two strand twists in followed by Flexi- Rods. Here are the results....

I think it turned out PRETTY AWESOME! lol I didn't sit under the dryer and like I stated before, there was no way possible for me to sleep on those things lol But it turned out pretty nice! I will definitely visit this style again. I'm also learning how my hair works when attempting styles. This look wouldn't look like this on freshly washed hair, only on already stretched out hair so I'll try that more often.

Flexi- Rod Set

I finally bought flexi-rods this past weekend and styled my hair with them. I bought the red and blue rods which were $3.99 for a pack of 6, so I ended up with 4 packs of blue and 2 packs of red.

To set the curl pattern I used olive oil mixed with eco styler gel on freshly washed hair and sat under my hooded dryer for maybe an hour.

I ended up with this nice curl pattern after taking all the rods out. I just hate that my roots were still so fuzzy!

After separating the curls I just pushed my hair back into a loose puff. I didn't like the way my hair looked without the puff. If anyone decides to try the flexi- rods do the set EARLY lol because you do not want to sleep in those things! I got in my bed for 5 minutes and got right back up to take them out! I don't know if I will try them soon because I'm lazy and it's a lot of work. I wish my hair were longer so the curls could just hang. One day that will be possible.

Now I like this!

I may not be fond of Shea Moisture's Deep Treatment Masque but this shampoo is one of the best shampoos I have used in like forever! It didn't leave  my hair feeling like a cotton ball and it actually felt moisturized. Complete shocker! I purchased this from my local Walgreens for $9.99 and I will say this will be my added to my arsenal of  hair products.

I am now on a mission to find a great deep conditioner and a creamy based moisturizer that is great for doing twist outs and such. I still use their Curl Enhancing Smoothie but it doesn't give me the defined look I'm looking for. I have to use gel with the product to get the look I want.

So again I'm open to suggestions! Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Some Deep Conditioner!!

Something that JUST came to my mind is, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Well that's how I feel right about now about deep conditioners. We all like to switch it up a bit and try new things so that's what I did. You all know I love Neutrogenas' Deep Conditioner and I've had nothing but great moments with that product.

So my cousin gave me her Shea Moisture's Deep Treatment Masque...pictured below

Talk about a major let down! If my hair could cry it cried after using this product. Another product that basically beat my hairs ASS is this one....

This is Bio Infusion Olive Oil Deep Conditioning Treatment that I purchased from Walgreens for $7.99 and quite frankly I want my money back! Both products left my hair feeling COMPLETELY stripped like a shampoo with sulfate would! I had a major WTH moment! See I wanted to purchase one of the other 2 deep conditioners by Shea Moisture but I was afraid because of how the Masque left my hair feeling!

So there are 2 morals to this story....I'm sticking to Neutrogena UNTIL somebody suggests a deep conditioner that actually does what it's suppose to. Ironically the Shea Moisture Masque says for "dry, damaged hair" SHIT (excuse my language) that product left my hair feeling dry and completely damaged. I'm throwing one away and giving the other one away to SOMEBODY.

So please if you all have ANY suggestions please comment!

I never finished...

So I never finished my 30 day blog challenge. Why? Because I've been LAZY :) MAYBE when I get off work I'll get back to it. I also made a recent purchase on hair products that I will be posting later today.

The take down

I finally took my twists out tonight! Yayyy! I did them on the 18th and kept them in until the 30th. That's the longest I have ever kept twists in my hair! Here are some before and after pictures so that you all can see the state of my twists before I took them out and what it looked like after.

This is the back view and as you can see my hair shrunk drastically!
The front of my hair gets messed up so bad! I actually redid the front over once since I had them in. On the last day I just pulled it back with a headband! I felt hopeless over the front.

Yay! It's all out!

I actually LOVE the way my hair looks out so I'm thinking that I may keep it like this until like Sunday. I am way overdue for a wash so we shall see! My plan is to do mini twists again in about 2 weeks but idk. Time will tell.

Day 16 Blog Challenge

Something I always think "what if..." about

Everyone thinks what if about all aspects of their lives. From relocating, to career choices, to relationships, to starting a family, etc...So I think what if about every thing! My main what if is about where my career will go.

Day 15 Blog Challenge

My zodiac/ horoscope and if it fits my personality:

Well my birthday is August 8th so that makes me a LEO :) Here are a few characteristics:

Traditional Traits:
Generous and Warmhearted
Creative and Enthusiastic
Broad- Mined and Expansive
Faithful and Loving

Dark Side:
Pompous and Patronizing
Bossy and Interfering
Dogmatic and Intolerant

Now I totally disagree with being said to be pompous and patronizing. I am far from that! Now I agree with everything else. As far as being dogmatic, yes I am opinionated but not overbearingly opinionated. I only give my opinion when needed or if it's a topic I feel strongly about. That's it. Most of what I've read about Leo's describes my personality.

Day 14 Blog Challenge

What I wore today:
I was suppose to do this post like last Saturday so I'm just going to catch up on my challenge. Today I didn't do anything so I wore gray sweat pants and a tank top. No need for a picture -_-

Day 13 Blog Challenge

My opinion about my body and how comfortable I am with it:

With my wig hehe lol

Most recent
Me and my body....we have a love hate relationship! Some days I feel fat and some days I feel sexy. What I do like about my body would be my curves and my legs! I love my legs especially when I wear heels :) In my opinion it would be great to lose 30 pounds or maybe 40 and be like a size 7. I do wish my stomach was flat -_- and I wish I were wayyy more toned up! All these things can happen for me if I stop being lazy and work out more than I actually do, OH and eat better! When I dress myself with clothing that flatters my figure you can't tell me nothing! Sorry for the blurriness of the pictures!
