Unleashing My Curls

I recently purchased the Curl Defining Creme by Organic Root Stimulator. We've all seen and heard about their new line Curls Unleashed. The product says it moisturizes and defines curls without shrinkage, and it can be used for styling or defining your curls. Check out some pictures:

Curls Unleashed

The following pictures were taken on the third day of this style. Now on the first day my hair was pretty wet when I used the creme. When I took the twists out on the first day, my hair wasn't defined as I wanted. So on the second night I spritzed my hair with water and used the creme and got these awesome results for the third day! Honestly, all twists out start to look like same to me regardless, of what product I use.

My hair wasn't stretched to the max, but it wasn't as shrunken as it would have been compared to other products I have used in the past. I got this on sale from Walgreens for $12.99. I love the consistency, I like the clean smell and I like how it left my hair feeling very soft and moisturized.

One of these days I'm going to use this product as a curl definer and share pictures with the results! Have any of you used the Curls Unleashed line? If so, what are your fave products from this line?

New Products!

Hey guys! I've been picking up a few products here and there while in CVS, Walgreen's, a local beauty supply store Bargain Buys, Wal-Mart and Sally's Beauty Supply! I picked up 2 different deep conditioning sample packets from CVS for $1.87 each. In Walgreen's I caught Urban Therapy Twisted Sista products on sale 2 for $8! I also found Proclaim Cholesterol conditioner 32 oz. for $3 at Sally's. I bought Mizani's Scalp Care Shampoo from Bargain Buys for $12 (yeah that's a lot for me but well worth it). The last product I picked up was Aussie Moist Conditioner with the pump from Wal-mart for $5. Here are the items I picked up:

I haven't tried any of the products pictured above YET but when I do I will definitely give my review on them all. As you can see I have the Creme of Nature Argan Oil Intensive Conditioning Treatment and Hask Henna and Placenta Conditioning Treatment. I'm out of a deep conditioner so I wanted to sample these 2 before purchasing a bigger size.

Now for the Twisted Sista the only 2 products I was interested in using out of their line was the De- Frizz Conditioner and Curl Activator. I will probably wash my hair tomorrow and do a wash and go to see if the Curl Activator defines curls. On day 2 or 3 with the activator again on two strand twists for a twist out!

I've never used a Cholesterol conditioner but since it was on sale and stuff I thought I'd give it a try. Ummm I don't like how it felt in my hair. It's suppose to soften dry and brittle hair BUT YEAH my hair felt dry and jacked up after using it lol I bought it so either I give it away or just use it for the hell of it. I may have to add some thing to it. I only used it once so I will give it another try.

Okay I feel like shouting across my computer screen while doing a back flip just thinking about this Mizani Scalp Care Shampoo! OMG! Last week the middle of my scalp felt sooo sore and kept itching none stop. I had no idea what caused this inflammation to my scalp! My husband has been having the same issues with itchy scalp (he also has curly hair). So while in Bargain Buys the owner told us Mizani was the best product for that problem based off customer reviews. When I washed my hair it was an instant relieve. When I feel like spending 12 more dollars I'll get the conditioner as well. This will definitely be a staple in my regime.

Aussie Moist Conditioner is pretty great for detangling my hair so that's why I wanted to go back to using this product. It's one of the first conditioners I used to used faithfully when I first went natural. Some people  use it as a leave-in but I can't leave anything that isn't meant to be a leave-in conditioner on my scalp because I have a very sensitive scalp! What are some new products that you guys have purchased? Has anyone used any of the products above? Please share!

Changing It Up

In April I purchased 2 products online and I'm just now blogging about them :) I thought I'd try out Coco Curls which looks like this:

I ordered the 8 oz cream off CoCo Curls for $15. I love the smell and consistency of the product, and it's a pretty good moisturizer. A little of this product goes a long way! I used it for my two strand twists at night and too much of it left my hair greasy. It really doesn't give much definition for the twist out in my opinion compared to products I've used in the past. Here is a picture of how the twist out turned out...I believe it was day 3 hair I don't remember.

I've been tweaking my routine for twist outs with other products I can combine with CoCo Curls. When I figure something out I will let you all know! Another products that I purchased is Pretty Dimples (youtuber) Shea Butter mix, the Strawberry scent. It's also 8 ounces for $15:

This stuff will last me a long time! I love the smell of it and as soon as you rub it in your hands it melts like butter baby! lol I may do mini twists tonight or tomorrow depending on how I feel. When I do the twists I use this Shea Butter when I haven't mixed my own up. I noticed I haven't used Shea Butter in a while so I decided to go back to older products and methods I used when I first went natural :)  So have you guys used any of these products? What's your fave!?

Beautiful Textures

Product review time! I got Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Creme a couple of weeks ago from Sally's for under $7. I like trying hair butters out from time to time until I find something that gives me the look I am looking for. This product has a nice smell and a nice consistency but it doesn't give you a defined twist out. What I will say is that it is pretty good for a wash and go...here is my wash and go

This is my hair texture with water and beautiful textures moisture butter. Pretty nice right! Now here is the twist out that looks like I got shocked a little lol...

Yep looks like crap right! My hair felt and looked limp as hell! So I will use this product for my wash and go. I will not buy it again that's for sure. I may try layering it with something else but I'm scared to get flakes...So that means more product reviews yayyy! Anyone else ever tried this product? What are your thoughts?

Mizoutlet.com

A couple of weeks ago I watched a product review video on this website Mizoutlet from youtuber iknowlee (her videos are awesome). I decided to order from the website because nothing on the website is over $5! I've been wanting to purchase more headbands and and hair accessories for a while but I just didn't find it necessary to pay $8 for one headband.

On this website Mizoutlet I bought 10 headbands ranging from the prices of $1- $1.50 each. Now where else can you find a good deal like that?! I've shared this site with others and now I'd like to share it with you all. Here are all the items I purchased off the site. My grand total with FREE shipping for purchases $20 or more was $28 and some change!

Nice Packaging

I ordered 10 head bands, 5 bracelets, 2 pairs of earrings, 2 necklaces, and 1 E.LF. liquid liner. You can't beat that! So check out the website guys and share with me what you ordered. Don't get carried away!

Motions Shine Pomade

While in the store last week I came across Motions Shine Enhancing Pomade...I think I just bought this product for the hell of it lol. It is pretty awesome for holding your edges in place and adding shine to your strands. I mean it isn't going to keep your hair slicked back like gel but if you are like me trying to lay off the gel it is worth a try. I don't remember the cost but I know it was less than $5.00. It really doesn't feel like a pomade either...then again I don't know what a pomade feels like lol I thought it would have been more thicker or sticker...Anyone ever used this stuff? What are your thoughts?

My relationship with Deodorants

For a majority of my life I have had a love hate relationship with deodorants. I found myself having to change scents every other week, I dealt with excessive sweating, and a lack of freshness by the end of the day. I even used my husbands' deodorant! lol Who wants to smell like rotten juices and berries? lol Not meee! So before my quest to find the perfect deodorant for my body I used Dove. Dove did it's job as long as I didn't stick with the same scent for more than a month! Me and powder fresh didn't match AT ALL lol.

So I looked into more natural deodorants minus ALUMINUM! I came across Arm & Hammer Essentials and Toms. Unfortunately I am totally allergic to whatever is in these two! My armpits were on FIRE burning like hell lol so I had to let them go...talk about a waster of money. So guess what? I found my match!!

Crystal Deodorant! YAYYY! OMG! It is hypoallergenic, paraben free, and has NO ALUMINUM! What more could a girl ask for!! lol As you can see the only ingredients is Purified Water and Natural Mineral Salts so it doesn't smell like anything. I usually spray like 5 spritz per pit (lol). I don't smell rotten or dirty and my pits don't burn anymore YAYYY.. Too much info? lol I just wanted to share my story in case someone felt the same way about deodorant. Crystal can be found as a spray or roll on in Walgreens and Wal-Mart. What are your fave deodorants?

Malibu C Products

Unfortunately where I currently live we have hard well water. Boooo!! I don't need to write an essay telling you all the effects of hard water on the hair and skin, just know that it isn't positive. On my journey to having healthier hair and such I went on google and found Malibu C hair products. The set I bought was $29.99 for the Shampoo, Conditioner, and 4 Hard Water treatment packets. All products are said to be 100% Vegan. So if you have hard water, city water, or you are a swimmer definitely check out their products.

I used the products last Sunday and I definitely could feel a difference. After I wash my hair I usually put twists in and do a twist out. I found my hair to be full of body and less limp compared to me just using regular products. The Shampoo is sulfate free but my hair and scalp was just a clean as it would be using a sulfate shampoo. The conditioner was straight lol I really don't recall much but I'm going to continue to use these products weekly and monitor how my hair feels and looks! Has anyone ever tried these products? What are your thoughts?

Final Review on Curls "Curl Creme Brule"

Hey guys! I bought this product a month ago and wanted to share my final thoughts on Curls Curl Creme Brule. First off I'd like to say that I like the smell and the consistency of this product! It feels very light and is an awesome moisturizer. I've tried using it for twist outs but it's not meant for that...doesn't leave you with a defined twist out. My husband also has curly hair and likes to use any products I buy. This product also left his hair moisturized and really defined his 3 a/b curl pattern. Would I buy this product again? I have no idea lol If you are looking for a good moisturizer it is definitely one to try!

New Product

How should I start this? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Yes I'm sooo LATE and I haven't made a post since last year! Today I went to Target and decided to check out the hair products they have right now. I spotted the Curls "Curl Creme' Brule" moisturizer for $10.99 and decided to give it a try.  Now we all know I am not a product junky, I like to try different products when I use up what I already have. Lately I've been using Taliah Waajid's Curly Curl Cream as a base for twists and other styles. My thoughts? I will not be purchasing this product again because it causes MAJOR flakes for me. I thought that when I used it with gel that's what caused the flakes but when I don't use gel I still have flakes and that's not COOL. Here is a picture of the product in case you guys don't remember...

So I washed my hair today and decided to put twists in using the curl creme' brule product. Now I love the smell and consistency of the product and felt that it was very light and coats the hair very nicely. Tomorrow I will be taking my medium sized twists out and style. After that I will take pictures so you all will get to see the finished look. The question on my mind now is whether or not I will have a defined twist out because the product says it's not meant for hold so I may have to experiment by using it with gel another day. Has anyone used any of these products? What were your thoughts? Stay tuned guys! I'll be back :)

Products I found

I bought these products a couple of weeks ago just for the hell of it while browsing in Sally's Beauty Supply and Walgreens. I have been looking for a reliable deep conditioner that actually conditions the hair DEEPLY lol and I found this:

This deep conditioner is a product from Silk Elements and yeah it is pretty cool. I believe it was like $5 or $6...I don't really remember.  I only used it once but I was not disappointed. My hair did not feel stripped and it felt nice. I will probably use it this weekend. No complaints here. Then I found some sample packets of this:

Hair One Cleanser and Conditioner with Argan Oil...maybe $1 a pack. I am going to use the second packet tonight. I don't remember if it cleaned my hair like a shampoo...oh it's sulfate free and it didn't leave my hair feeling stripped. When I use it tonight I will update this with more details. As you can see I'm not a big reviewer of products lol but if a product sucks I will tell you DEFINITELY!

Lastly I bought this from Walgreens:

Taliah Waajid Curly Curl Cream for less than $10. I use it to moisturizer my hair and for twist outs and such. It's not really good by itself to leave you with that defined look and it doesn't define your hair like a gel would. Smells like candy though :) It's cool I just use a little gel with it to set my styles. Have you guys tried any of these products? What are your thoughts?

Oyin Handmade Order

I finally ordered a product that I've heard so much about! There are so so many different products to choose from but I decided to give Oyin Handmade a try. I ordered their sample set which consists of the Honey Hemp Conditioner, Whipped Pudding Cream, Shine and Define Styling Serum, and the Greg Juice Leave In which came to $17.50 plus like 3 or 4 dollars for shipping.

First off I was amazed that it only took like 2 or 3 days for me to receive my order! Another thing that I like about the products is the smell! The whipped pudding smells like cocoa- cocoa and the shine and define serum smells like skittles!! The other 2 have a citrus scent going on. The only thing I have not used yet is the conditioner. I used the other 3 products for bantu knots and they turned out pretty nice. I'll be washing my hair in the next hour or so when I stop being lazy :) so I'll use all the products on freshly washed hair and tell you all how it went for me.

Has anyone else tried Oyin Handmade products? What were your thoughts? Isn't it HARD to pick just ONE product line at a time!?!

Flexi- Rod Set

I finally bought flexi-rods this past weekend and styled my hair with them. I bought the red and blue rods which were $3.99 for a pack of 6, so I ended up with 4 packs of blue and 2 packs of red.

To set the curl pattern I used olive oil mixed with eco styler gel on freshly washed hair and sat under my hooded dryer for maybe an hour.

I ended up with this nice curl pattern after taking all the rods out. I just hate that my roots were still so fuzzy!

After separating the curls I just pushed my hair back into a loose puff. I didn't like the way my hair looked without the puff. If anyone decides to try the flexi- rods do the set EARLY lol because you do not want to sleep in those things! I got in my bed for 5 minutes and got right back up to take them out! I don't know if I will try them soon because I'm lazy and it's a lot of work. I wish my hair were longer so the curls could just hang. One day that will be possible.

Now I like this!

I may not be fond of Shea Moisture's Deep Treatment Masque but this shampoo is one of the best shampoos I have used in like forever! It didn't leave  my hair feeling like a cotton ball and it actually felt moisturized. Complete shocker! I purchased this from my local Walgreens for $9.99 and I will say this will be my added to my arsenal of  hair products.

I am now on a mission to find a great deep conditioner and a creamy based moisturizer that is great for doing twist outs and such. I still use their Curl Enhancing Smoothie but it doesn't give me the defined look I'm looking for. I have to use gel with the product to get the look I want.

So again I'm open to suggestions! Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Some Deep Conditioner!!

Something that JUST came to my mind is, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Well that's how I feel right about now about deep conditioners. We all like to switch it up a bit and try new things so that's what I did. You all know I love Neutrogenas' Deep Conditioner and I've had nothing but great moments with that product.

So my cousin gave me her Shea Moisture's Deep Treatment Masque...pictured below

Talk about a major let down! If my hair could cry it cried after using this product. Another product that basically beat my hairs ASS is this one....

This is Bio Infusion Olive Oil Deep Conditioning Treatment that I purchased from Walgreens for $7.99 and quite frankly I want my money back! Both products left my hair feeling COMPLETELY stripped like a shampoo with sulfate would! I had a major WTH moment! See I wanted to purchase one of the other 2 deep conditioners by Shea Moisture but I was afraid because of how the Masque left my hair feeling!

So there are 2 morals to this story....I'm sticking to Neutrogena UNTIL somebody suggests a deep conditioner that actually does what it's suppose to. Ironically the Shea Moisture Masque says for "dry, damaged hair" SHIT (excuse my language) that product left my hair feeling dry and completely damaged. I'm throwing one away and giving the other one away to SOMEBODY.

So please if you all have ANY suggestions please comment!

Yes to Carrots

I believe I may have found my new favorite conditioner which also maybe a staple product for me! I just purchased Yes to Carrots from ULTA this weekend for about um 10 dollars. I used Yes to Carrots tonight for the first time to detangle my hair while using the Tangle Teezer. I really like the slip to the conditioner and the consistency. Doesn't smell like anything spectacular but it is a really nice conditioner! When I feel like spending $10.00 on a conditioner this will be what I buy lol. This is the only conditioner in a long time that made my hair go OH YEAHHHH! HAHA! Anybody tried Yes to Carrots or Cucumbers? What are your thoughts?
